Contemporary Casual Dining Room

Highly textured neutrals combine with bold, interesting silhouettes to bring this unique dining room to life. An L-Shaped banquette adds overflow storage for the adjacent kitchen within both sides of the bench. A small integral games cabinet with brass hardware is tucked into the far end. Paired with the 94” microcement dining table, these custom furniture elements optimize the space for entertaining a crowd, all without interrupting the flow of traffic.

While the vibe of this room is understated, everywhere you look there are subtle — yet intentional — threads which tie each of the design elements together. The palette of rich earth tones and moody green/black millwork is pulled from Pennsylvania artist Bradley Hendershot’s “Coyote Run,” depicting a barn scene at night. Opposite the banquette, a vintage buffet with hutch doubles as a bar. Its Mid-Century Modern style is mirrored in the room’s wall sconces and chandelier, while its iron accents reflect the streamlined leg and back details of the dining chairs. Organic curvilinear motifs can be found in the asymmetrical table, wallpaper, and low-pile washable rug. The channel stitch tufting on the bench’s bolster pillows mimics the fluted detail from the terracotta vessel.

The space feels both inspired and relaxed, setting the scene for an evening of great food and conversation with loved ones.
