2025 Design Trends We Love

We’ve gathered predictions from some of our favorite names in design — here’s what we’re most excited to see in the coming year!

1. Colorful Kitchens

The era of the all-white kitchen is FINALLY coming to an end. If you take a quick look at our project portfolio, you’ll see that we’ve never really been on that bandwagon — so it’s great to know we’ll start seeing more color-infused kitchens on the horizon. Not only do they have so much more character and soul in our opinion, but anecdotally colorful kitchens are also much easier to keep clean!

One of the easiest places to add color in your kitchen is through your floor and backsplash tile. But if you’re feeling a little more adventurous, try colorful cabinetry, or even selecting a unique countertop! Natural stones like quartzite come in a wide array of colors beyond the typical neutrals.

2. Wallpapered Everything

We feel like the wallpaper trend has been making it’s way back for a little while now, but a growing trend we’re excited about is the use of wallpaper to dress up untraditional spaces throughout your home. Think a wallpapered ceiling, like in this home office we designed, lining bookshelves, or even dressing up flat panel doors and furniture!

Contrary to popular belief, with some planning wallpaper can also be used in historically “off-limit” spaces like kitchens and bathrooms. Heavy-duty vinyl wallpapers are easy to wipe down, making them great for kids’ rooms, damp/humid areas, or those other spaces in your home that might see a lot of dirt and traffic. Even typical paper options can be made more durable by applying a thin layer of decorator’s varnish on top. The varnish is available in a variety of sheens, which can even enhance colors and patterns in your selected paper.

3. Moody Earth Tones

With Sherwin-Williams’ “Grounded”, Benjamin Moore’s “Cinnamon Slate” and Pantone’s “Mocha Mousse” all unveiled as colors of the year for 2025, it’s clear that the world of design is doubling down on moody and muted earth tones for the foreseeable future.

We love using these soothing and cozy colors in our design, whenever we want a space to envelop you like a warm hug. We also love their retro nod to palettes from the 1970’s and 80’s — perfectly complimenting the latest silhouettes we’re seeing in furniture design as well!

4. Chrome Accents

If you’ve kept your eye on design trends over the last few decades, you know that the early aughts were all about satin nickel hardware. That was soon replaced by matte black, and most recently everything shifted to warm brass — preferably unlacquered “living” brass finishes that would naturally tarnish over time. Well things have cycled back to the cooler side of the spectrum once again, with polished chrome finishes started to dominate the world of design!

As lovers of all things vintage, we’re totally here for this one and can’t wait to incorporate it into more of our designs this year! That said, don’t rush to swap out your cabinet hardware just yet chasing trends — chances are whatever you have will be back in style before too long.

5. Sculptural + Artistic Lighting

Designers often describe cabinet hardware as the “jewelry” of a room, and if we follow that analogy, we’d say that statement lighting is more like a crown! This year, expect to see sculptural and artistic fixtures that can stand out in more character-forward spaces.

Speaking from experience, some of the prettier lighting isn’t always super bright or functional — so be sure to include a variety of task, and ambient lighting along with these more stylish “accent” fixtures for adequate lighting throughout your home.
